Eric was born and raised in North Carolina and Debbie is a native Guatemalan. Eric volunteered for two years with the Peace Corps in Guatemala using his business skills. While there, he and Debbie met. During their 13 years of marriage they have served as missionaries in Guatemala and now have two sons, Eric (12) and Danny (9).
Eric served two years in the US Army Infantry in Panama and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with distinction, earning a BS in Business Administration. Currently Eric is studying to receive a MA in Bible Studies from the Central American Seminary in Guatemala City. Debbie has served for over18 years in children’s ministry at her local church and graduated as a bilingual secretary from a Guatemalen Lutheran school.
As a family their mission is to promote Kingdom growth through serving the local church in rural areas of northeastern Guatemala by offering its leadership Biblical/theological training and by promoting children’s ministry. Eric serves as coordinator and teaches in an extension of the Pentecostal Bible Seminary. He also teaches an OMEGA course, a practical church planting study. The Stones promote children’s ministry in 12 local churches. Debbie coordinates and partners with Super Adventures, a Guatemalan ministry, to distribute Sunday school materials. In addition Debbie visits the government nursery where she teaches a formal, Bible curriculum for children that is loaded with fun activities and crafts. Eric and Debbie also serve as leaders at a nearby AWANA club. The Stones continue to live out God’s call on their lives and bless those around them.
