Anne and John joined The Antioch Partners (TAP) as Member Care Coordinators in September 2009. Both experienced missionaries, they have been serving in cross-cultural ministry in Kenya (Anne 1982-1996; John 1991-1996) and in Ethiopia (1997-2000 and 2004-2008).

As Member Care Coordinators, John and Anne will work both with mission personnel and sending churches in building strong and comprehensive support structures and practices for those involved in long-term cross-cultural mission in North America and around the world. Caring for mission personnel has become a passion for them out of their own and coworkers’ experiences over the years and was part of the focus of their doctor of ministry studies in Christian Spirituality at Fuller Seminary. They are excited to bring this passion to work with TAP in this vitally important area of kingdom witness. The goal is to enable missionaries to be healthy spiritually emotionally/relationally, physically and intellectually over the long haul so they can participate effectively in God’s mission with a strong support network in place.

In addition to their ministry in member care, Anne and John will continue to teach on a part-time basis at the Ethiopian Graduate School of Theology (EGST) several months of each year in the mission studies program. Most recently they were back at EGST from October to December 2009 teaching missiology and ethics.

John and Anne met at Fuller Seminary in 1990. Both ordained pastors in the Presbyterian Church (USA), they bring their pastoral perspectives and teaching experience to this new ministry of member care. Their involvement overseas with a variety of multicultural worship communities add another element to this ministry.

Anne, having grown up in the San Francisco Bay Area, and John, having grown up in Houston, Texas, are currently settled in neutral territory, living in Jacksonville, Oregon.
