Sargez and Annette Benyamin

Sargez started his ministry in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Urmia in northwest Iran in 1990. In the Church in Urmia, he served as a youth leader, ordained minister, and director of the Church’s publication team. In 2003, the Synod of the Evangelical (Presbyterian) Church of Iran asked Sargez and his family to move to Tehran. In Tehran he served the Lord among Farsi-speaking people as pastor, New Testament lecturer in the Synod's theological program, Synod's magazine editor, pastor for the First Presbyterian Church of Tehran (St. Peter), and finally as Executive Secretary of the Synod till 2015. Sargez and his family were forced to leave Iran in May 2015. After being forced to leave, he was appointed as Coordinator of the Evangelical (Presbyterian) Church of Iran for the Middle East and Europe in 2016. Since December 2016 he and his family have been working among Persian refugees in Nuremberg.

Sargez married Annette in 1997 in Urmia. They have two daughters, Dorothy and Agape. Dorothy and Agape are college students and they are both excelling in their most recently acquired language, German.

Annette has her B.A. in Library Science. Sargez has a B.A. in English Translation and an M.A. in Practical Theology. Currently, he is working on a Ph.D. in Church Mission & History.
