Myoung Ho and Ji Yeon Yang
Both Myoung Ho and Ji Yeon have long carried a song for mission in their hearts. Its lyrics come from Habakkuk 2:14: “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.” A call to prepare for mission service prompted their move from South Korea to the United States in the late 1990s with their two sons, Samuel and John. Both sons are now married and have children. Myoung Ho earned an M.Div. degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts. Sensing God’s leading to the ministry of teaching, he completed his doctoral degree in Liturgical Studies at Drew University in 2009.
Myoung Ho and Ji Yeon are serving in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Myoung Ho teaches at McGilvary College of Divinity, founded in 1888, helping to prepare future church leaders to serve effectively both in the church and a society where Christianity accounts for less than 1% of the population. They are planning a continuing education program for the local church leaders in the future. Before their joining The Antioch Partners, they served as PCUSA mission co-workers for 11 years in Thailand (2022-2025) and in Hong Kong (2014-2021). Myoung Ho taught at Divinity School of Chung Chi College, and Ji Yeon served at Christian Family Center in Hong Kong.
Before they joined world mission through PCUSA, Myoung Ho served as a worship pastor at Pilgrim Church and Sandol Presbyterian Church in New Jersey, and pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in New Hampshire. He taught adjunctively at seminaries in New York and New Jersey. Myoung Ho is an ordained minister of PCUSA. Ji Yeon has been involved in ministries of hospitality and Bible teaching in the churches her husband has served.
